The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen will complete a trail surfacing project and associated works between Kaleden and Penticton. The project has been divided in to five sections that are unique.

MacKinley-Clark Paving has been awarded a $317,331.70 contract to resurface up to 4km of the KVR Trail north of Kaleden.
Directors on the board of the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen voted unanimously Thursday to engage this contractor which did phase one – Kaleden to Okanagan Falls.

Since rail operations were ended in the 1980’s, the corridor has been used heavily as a recreation trail by residents and tourists linking Penticton, Kaleden and Okanagan Falls. The former KVR rail corridor is identified as a priority trail route within the RDOS Regional Trails Master Plan 2011. No formalized process for maintenance or improvements has occurred on this corridor since rail operations were discontinued by Canadian Pacific Railway.
