Cst. Amit Goyal, formerly from Osoyoos has been suspended with pay since June 2013. His hearing was originally set for 2015 but being rescheduled repeatedly.*

Goyal’s hearing was set to begin in Federal Court in Vancouver on Monday, July 25, 2016 but now re-scheduled again until September.

Goyal has never been charged with a criminal offence. This is a disciplinary hearing.

UPDATE: 3:42 p.m.: According to Staff Sgt. Julie Gagnon with RCMP national media relations, the hearing for Goyal won’t be taking place on March 8. Gagnon said in a statement that every effort is made for adjudication board hearings to be scheduled in a timely manner.

A conduct hearing is now set to take place in March for an RCMP officer, who was suspended with pay from the Osoyoos detachment. The date of the recently scheduled hearing for Const. Amit Goyal, which was not on the list as of late December, is March 8 in Vancouver.

The RCMP has confirmed that Osoyoos RCMP Cst. Amit Goyal was suspended with pay. RCMP E Division spokesman Sgt. Rob Vermeulen released the information this week, but little is known about the reason for the suspension or where he is.
