Megan Jentsch Comes Home to Paint in a big way!
Megan Jentsch grew up on an orchard in Oliver, BC. After high school her studies led to the World famous Florence Design Academy in Florence, Italy where; while learning about interior design she discovered a passion for abstract painting.
Upon returning to Canada, Megan joined the Calgary design firm of Jerilyn Wright and Associates and continued to explore her interest in painting. Working in Calgary’s design community led to opportunities for her art. Since 2013 Megan’s work has been included in several art shows, exhibitions and led to several commissions, commercial installations and a show of her collection at Calgary’s Holt Renfrew in August 2015.
This weekend (July 16/17) Megan comes home to Oliver to create a large-scale mural on a specially constructed wall at her folk’s winery, C.C. Jentsch Cellars.
This Saturday and Sunday, between 10 am and 8 pm Megan plans to create two works on a 64 x 8 foot wall using acrylic paint, and black ink on wood panels.
Mural # 1 will be a study of line work and mural #2 will be quick bursts of abstract forms. The finished works will be photographed in sections, digitally reassembled, printed on canvas and readied for exhibition later this year.
