“Police in Central California say two family dogs killed a three-day-old baby after her mother left her on the couch and walked away for a few seconds.
The girl’s mother had left the door open because it was hot and she thought the dogs were tied up in the back yard.
The baby died at a hospital shortly after the attack Monday. The two male dogs, which are believed to be a mix of shar-pei and pit bull.”
Elsewhere in the comment section is the oft heard refrain – its the owners not the breed.
Both Quebec and Ontario have banned or will ban pit bulls as an aggressive breed.
My argument is this: – when is the last time you heard or saw a report that a golden lab or even a husky killed or mauled someone. Nothing on my radar.
The stories are increasing of innocent people hurt, maimed or killed by aggressive dogs. It is time for some action by timid politicians in the west.
And yes I expect some pushback on this.
