RDOS Chair Mark Pendergraft spoke last and stated we may have many differences but we know how to sit down and talk it through. PIB Chief Jonathan Kruger says he is so proud of this agreement and the men and women who made it possible. Throughout his travels, Kruger says no where has he found a place where an agreement like this helps so much with reconciliation.
BC Grand Chief Stewart Phillip says he spends a lot of time on the road and at the coast but coming home to the South Okanagan always makes him happy and proud. He mentioned a time when their was stress between the natives and other peoples living here.
Phillip says this agreement makes him very happy that both parties continue to work together and improve the land of all the people. MP Dick Cannings spoke as well.
Representatives of the RDOS attended from Princeton, to Osoyoos to Penticton along with PIB, OIB and LSIB reps.
