“I am honoured,” says Jaime, to be chosen as I have limited on-the-field experience. Selected as a right tackle playing offense. “It’s a great opportunity to use my athletic abilities.”
Jaime Boreham, former Sun coach met Fortune at a basketball championship early this year when the Hornets were playing at Immaculata High School. Fortune was asked to come to Kelowna later in the year, to do a bit of physical training and meet the new head coach of the junior football team.
Fortune is enrolling in Okanagan College looking a future in sports health support.
30 year old Ben Macauley of the Okanagan Sun will oversee this Kelowna ‘B.C. Football Conference’ team for the season of beginning in late July through October.
Jaime Fortune invited to meet the Sun’s Head coast at a spring camp held May 14th. He was signed almost on the spot. He returns in early July for the summer camp.

The Okanagan Sun are a Canadian Junior Football team and play in the six-team B.C. Football Conference, which itself is part of the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) and competes annually for the national title known as the Canadian Bowl. The Sun were founded in 1980, began play in 1981, and are one of the most successful teams in junior football history. They have had 25 consecutive winning seasons (1982 through 2006), were the BCFC champions 14 times, and won the Canadian Bowl twice as CJFL champions in 1988 and 2000.
