At about 10 a.m. on June 11, 911 received a call from a male who had just crashed his cross-country motorcycle above Saliken Drive just off Carmi Road west of Penticton. Due to a number of injuries, he was unable to move other than to make the cell phone call to 911.
Penticton Search and Rescue was contacted, and by 10:30 a.m. had three vehicles with 13 crew on their way to the location. The rider was located on a knoll overlooking the city.
The rider was provided with basic medical treatment, packaged in a stretcher and carried off the hill by the SAR team where he was turned over to ambulance personnel for transport to Penticton Regional Hospital. The extent of his injuries is unknown.
