A northbound Mazda pickup, driven by a lone female occupant stopped to turn left onto Road 5. It was struck from behind by a Pontiac minivan driven by a male 82 years of age.. The force of the impact caused the Mazda to cross the centre line and strike a Southbound Cadillac driven by a lone male occupant.
The driver of the Mazda, 47,  suffered head injuries and was airlifted  to Kelowna General Hospital by air ambulance in stable condition. The driver of the Pontiac suffered undetermined injuries (non-life threatening) and was treated at SOGH. The driver of the Cadillac, 72 years of age,  suffered minor injuries and was checked out at SOGH.

The highway has re-opened. The driver of the Pontiac was issued a violation ticket for driving without due care under the Motor Vehicle Act.
