Obituary for the late Crystal Anne Murray May 14, 1987 – June 1, 2016
Crystal Anne Murray was born May 14, 1987 in Penticton, BC. She grew up in Oliver and graduated from SOSS.
She leaves behind her beautiful daughter Sadie; spouse Andy; father Russell Murray; mother Diana DeRoche; brother Dylan Murray; step-dad Roger DeRoche; her mommy Barb; siblings Stephan and Christina; her nanny Shoffeea; her Oma Nina (Wayne); her Opa Ernst and Oma Geli in Germany as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved Opa Hans, Grandpa and Grandma Wray from Manitoba; Oma and Opa of Summerland and her Oma Gertrude from Germany .
Crystal worked as a nursing unit clerk at the Penticton Regional Hospital where at the age of 23 she was diagnosed with M.S. This did not deter her to fulfil a lifetime wish of becoming a mother. On December 19, 2013, she gave birth to her beautiful daughter Sadie who was the light of her life.
Crystal was a valiant warrior and fought with all her might, yet M.S. prevailed. On June 1, 2016, surrounded by love and her mom Diana, step-dad Roger and her aunty Sharon, Crystal lost her battle to this disease.
Her final wish came true, “Dear God, please make me a bird so I can fly far far away from here.”
Our hearts will forever be broken. May her spirit, love and light live through her precious daughter Sadie. Many thanks to Dr. Myslek, all the nurses, doctors, care-aides and support staff at Sunnybank Centre, SOGH and Penticton Regional Hospital SP3. A special mention to Paul for making her feel love in her final days. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday June 11, 2016 at the Oliver Air Cadet Hangar at 5856 Cessna road.
A trust fund for her daughter Sadie’s future education has been set up at the Osoyoos CIBC under the name Sadie Cook c/o Nina Fischer, branch# 02060 Institution# 010 account# 7719094, and all donations may be given here in lieu of flowers.
