Wrap
To wrap something up is to end it, close it off, finish off the final bits. It is also to enclose, cover or protect and decorate something such that it cannot be seen. Sometimes it can be fun to wrap something in a way that hides its shape and size. A wrapping can also enclose in a way that seals what is inside, like a chocolate bar wrapper. A wrap can be a piece of clothing large enough to wrap around us for warmth
To wrap something is to enclose it. There is an art form that has people wrap an entire building using huge tarps and other cloth. I can wrap my arms around you to offer comfort and protection. It feels good to give and feels good to receive this kind of wrap. One may be able to wrap me around their little finger, meaning they control and can manipulate me at will and I may not even be aware of it
To wrap something is to finalize it, like when a movie scene is completed to the satisfaction of the Director she would say, “that’s a wrap”. This is similar to the preparation of a present I may give to you. The final step before delivery is to wrap the present, usually in paper that gives it that excitingly gay look or maybe I use a dark and royal looking paper, or… depending on what first impression I want to give
I can be wrapped up in some activity, meaning I am so engrossed in it that I may not even hear you come into the room or speak to me. This is a state called being in flow. When I am in flow I can really be my absolute best. When I am wrapped up I can be my best or at my lowest, as in being wrapped up in my anger. I’m thinking that to be wrapped up from time to time is probably a good thing, expresses strongly
I like the idea of a wrap, one of those big ole scarf affairs to wrap around me when it is a bit chilly. Thing is that I can figuratively wrap almost anything to warm it up and make it better. For instance, a not so great situation can be wrapped in a quest to find the silver lining within it. This kind of wrap is deliberate with an intent to make better and it is also a choice. So, go ahead, make a wrap for something today
