We have a tree in our yard that is infested with aphids. Ladybugs came and laid eggs in the tree, as aphids are their food of choice.

It turns out, Ladybugs go through the same morphation as caterpillars. First they are worm-like creatures, then they cocoon themselves, and then they turn into full grown ladybugs. Here are some pictures of them.
