I’d like to share with you someone’s ‘problem’ with a potential problem solver. Maybe you can relate? Picture yourself in the following paragraph & replace cereal with a food that might be a problem for you.
There was a time I cut out cold cereal. But since cereal is eaten by others in my household every morning & I’m the one buying it, I find myself buying kinds that I like, knowing full well what’s going to happen. I eat it like candy. In my case, with some foods, it has to be all or nothing. I feel better when I don’t buy cereals that I like because then I don’t eat them. I am re-learning that cereal is a ‘food’ that I need to eliminate completely, again.
Is this you too? Here is a guideline to help you decide if you should avoid a certain food:
* Food that makes you feel gross. (physically or mentally)
* Food that makes your belly rumble.
* Food that you can’t control the portions of once you start, other than veggies.
* Food that you hate the taste of. That would fall under gross, right?
* Food that might kill you (such as an allergy).
Foods don’t need to be viewed as good or bad. If you like chocolate cake (or cereal), then eat it. But don’t eat chocolate cake every time you see it & don’t eat the whole cake! When you do eat it, savor every bite. A good start is to make sure that your diet consists of mainly whole foods. Following the list above will help you be successful.
Move more to feel better.
Where there’s a will, there’s a way & I can find a way that works well for you :)
