Celebrating their 30th Year Anniversary – the Soroptimist International (SI) of Osoyoos ladies were busy this past Saturday hosting their ever popular spring garage sale.
Preparations got into full swing as our dedicated members began sorting and pricing the multitude of items donated.
Members collected both household and outdoor Items of all sizes from their own homes, in addition to donations from their friends and neighbours. Thank you to the husbands and friends – we couldn’t have done this without your strong arms, too!
SI Osoyoos members ‘rose before the rooster’ and were back at the Cactus Centre to ensure that we were ready to convince our customers that we had several bargains they could not refuse!
Community members arrived on foot, bicycle and all other modes of transportation. Some even came back more than once to purchase everything from a radial arm saw, lawn mowers, patio furniture, dishes and purses, to mention a few. Bungee cords came in handy!
Profits from this will once again go toward assisting local women and children – we donate to causes such as better education for women, temporary shelter in a Safe Home Transition house, the Food Bank, a breakfast program and Safe Teen programs for local schools.
