From Laurie Wilson – representing the family of Roxanne Louie
“The community is very concerned about any change of venue. This case garnered publicity because of its horrendous nature and rightfully so! It will cause a great hardship on the family and community who have the right to see justice done. Any change of venue will only result in more hardship on the family who have waited too long already for this to play out. Most family, community and Nation supports will likely not be able to attend. Our drums will not be silent though and our resolve stays strong to stand up for Roxanne, she would have done the same for any of us.”

Two sibling accused of murdering Roxanne Louie will apply to have their trial moved out of Penticton, according to one of their lawyers.
Don Skogstad said the application will be made on the basis of adverse media coverage about the case and security concerns at the Penticton courthouse.
Following a pre-trial conference Monday in B.C. Supreme Court in Penticton, Skogstad said he expects the application to shift the case to Vancouver or Kelowna will be heard in July.
Skogstad represents Pier Louis Robotti, whose sister and co-accused, Grace Elinor Robotti, has a different lawyer. Grace Robotti is the great-grandmother of Louie’s son.
