Large turnout of elementary school students at Oliver Cemetery today – tulips the order of the day and lighting candles.
Mayor Ron Hovanes, MLA Linda Larson and Legionaire Chris Yerburgh on hand.
Thanks for the photos, folks.
Today we had the a brief ceremony at the Oliver Veterans cemetery to share in the beauty of 700 red and white tulips given to Oliver from Holland last fall, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Canadian Troops liberating Holland.
We had about 140 fantastic children from Oliver Elementary and Tuc-el-nuit Elementary Schools which planted the tulips last year to celebrate their beauty and significance.
It is fantastic to see Oliver’s youth taking part in these events.
Lest we forget.
