S.O.S.S. Enrichment Fund 21st Fairview Mountain Golf Tournament April 9th and 10th
The first round on Saturday afternoon April 9th copied the Masters held at Augusta Georgia with perfect weather, perfect greens and a gusty wind to challenge the best. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the golf, the fellowship, and the scrumptious buffet dinner. There were one hundred and fifteen golfers, 23 mixed teams, and plenty of cash awards for teams placing in the top seven.
At the top of the leader board in the Players Pool with a score of 63 was Mark Weinrich’s team of Ed Shugalo, Leigh Johnson, Julie Langlois and B.J. McIntosh. There was a three way tie for second with scores of 64: Dave Burgoyne’s team of Barry Barisoff, MaryLou Harkness, Earl Zinger, Bev Young; Larry Yamaguchi’s team of Huia Martin, Kelsi Bissonnette, Debbie Olafson and Phil Anderson; and Jordan Martin’s team of Mike Johnson, Lloyd Lindsay, Ron Olafson, Maria McCarthy.
The second and final round on Sunday afternoon had the favorites in the A Pool and B Pool battling it out for Calcutta winnings and bragging rights. It turned out to be another spectacular day at Fairview Mountain, which boasts a course that rewards long ball hitters and precision putting. John Echlin, who has been in attendance, organizing and playing for 21 years, said the weather and golf were the best ever!
“B” Pool Winning Teams- Tied for First: John McIntosh’s team of Greg Casorso, Jack Frank, Darlene Chapman, and Bev Kelson; and John Nune’s team of Juanita Roth, Mike Garrish, George Sabo, and Alanna Waunch.
