GPS for the Soul
Many of us travel with GPS, a Global Positioning System tracking device, in the car. Using satellite technology it can tell you where you are and how to get to your destination. I thought of how we need GPS for our soul, our life, not just for the car. Here’s a comparison.
The car gets information via satellite mapping, but the soul gets advice from God by way of the Bible and fellow believers.
GPS tells the car driver where he/she is at geographically, but the Bible tells you where you are at spiritually.
GPS directions are usually appreciated but God’s advice is seldom appreciated.
GPS will redirect the route if you get off the path. The Bible will redirect you if you stray.
The voice on GPS offers neither compassion nor criticism if you refuse to take its advice. The ‘voice’ of God will encourage what’s right and send consequences for wrong choices.
GPS has the one goal of reaching your choice of destination. God has the one goal of having you reach the best plan for your life’s journey.
GPS directs you where you want to go. The Bible directs you where you should go.
Would you like to have GPS for your soul? Here is good news. God is waiting for you to log in.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
