Presentation made last night at Midway – Chief Dan Skaros and Midway Chief Walt Osellame were present at the ceremony.
First Out spray unit made by Munckhof Equipment Oliver – taken to Midway last night for a presentation.
Oliver Fire Fighters including Dennis Munckhof raised funds for the community of Midway that supplies fire fighting services to the region.
The equipment designed to be able to get to a fire scene quickly and douse flames with water prior to trucks and manpower arriving.
In light of the recent Wildfires in the South Okanagan and Boundary areas the Oliver Fire Department produced a “Hold the Line” t-shirt and raised funds for this project.
All profits from sales went towards the purchase of a new “First Out” wildfire suppression unit for the Rock Creek/ Midway Fire Department.
The Oliver Fire Department currently has two of these suppression units and they were found to be invaluable during this summer’s fires.
Each of these units cost $10 000 – the bill was paid – no cost to Midway/Rock Creek – Wow.
