Brave Squirrel
I was waiting for a friend at the corner of Tucelnuit Dr. and Eastside Ave. when I spotted a squirrel making his way along the overhead power line crossing Eastside Ave. The wind was making it a bit difficult but then two crows added to the problem. One perched a few feet in front of the squirrel and the other one a few feet behind. The squirrel stopped for a while, battling the swaying wire and pondering the next move. It was a long, uninviting jump down to the pavement. The squirrel must have concluded there was only one way to go and that was forward no matter what. As (s)he moved forward the crow hopped a few feet forward too. This kept happening until the brave squirrel reached the other pole.
Have you ever felt trapped? There seemed to be no way out. When circumstances in life block our path with overwhelming odds against us, it may just be that we need to move ahead with courage and faith in the God who cares.
