Fire practice night – full crew attending a house fire at 6441 Okanagan Street shortly after 9pm Thursday.
Fire appeared to have started in the basement of a small home just north of the “St. John’s Lutheran” centre.
Cause not known. Neighbours called the fire in and helped alert residents to get out.
“When we arrived on scene, the guys deployed their hoses and knocked down the flames that were coming out of the window,” says Rob Graham.
The fire was contained to a small section of the house and caused minor damage to the two story single-detached home, according to Graham.
“There was no major damage to the home, it was mainly damage to one of the windows of the home.”
Graham says while there were people inside when the flames broke out, no one was injured in the incident.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
