On March 10, 2016 at 7:00pm, the Osoyoos RCMP responded to a head on motor vehicle collision between a Chevy Malibu and a BC Ambulance. A BC Ambulance from Oliver was travelling south bound on Highway 97 near 128th Avenue when the driver of the north bound Malibu failed to negotiate a curve due to speed and crossed the center line. The ambulance was travelling routine and did not have any patients on board. Both paramedics were taken to the Oliver hospital with minor injuries and later released. The driver and passenger of the Malibu were also transported to hospital with minor injuries and later released. The driver of the Malibu, a 21 year old male resident of Osoyoos did not have a driver’s licence. He was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act for Drive Without Due Care and No Driver’s Licence. Both vehicles sustained considerable damage.
