The Osoyoos Indian Band and B.C. Parks are pleased to announce that all 25 campsites at sx̌ʷəx̌ʷnitkʷ park (Okanagan Falls) will be added to the Discover Camping reservation system in 2016.
This change makes it possible for park visitors to reserve a campsite up to three months in advance of an arrival date between May 15 and September 10. During this period, if campsites are not reserved in advance, they will function on a first come first served basis.
“This is a win-win. sx̌ʷəx̌ʷnitkʷ park is a popular camping destination. We now have the ability to offer park visitors an opportunity to reserve campsites in advance. If campsites are not reserved in advance, they will continue to function on a first come first served basis. We look forward to offering park visitors high quality camping experiences and an opportunity to book their stay ahead of time,” said Chief Clarence Louie with the Osoyoos Indian Band.
The Discover Camping reservation system opens province-wide March 15, 2016 at 7:00 am. This means that on opening day, park visitors will be able to book campsites for the May long weekend.
sx̌ʷəx̌ʷnitkʷ park is well-loved for its treed sites, river access and bird-watching opportunities. Given the popularity of sx̌ʷəx̌ʷnitkʷ park, the Osoyoos Indian Band expects that as soon as reservation inventory becomes available campsites will go quickly.
Reservations can be made online at www.discovercamping.ca or by calling 1-800-689-9025 (a surcharge applies for call centre service).
