Stand strongly by my comment, and many many others will repeat it. There will be increased incidents of bullying and rivalry, I grew up here and my families are long term Oliver/Osoyoos residents.
We know first hand of the Oliver students picking on Osoyoos students and vice-versa. As stated by an OSS student February 9th ..they are scared and have increased anxiety about this issue.
Students involved in extra-curricular (activities) usually have many friends outside of their communities and school lives, doesn’t mean they’d “hang out” together at school. Peer pressures are real ..and can be very nasty! OSS is a family of caring staff and students. I am sure SOSS is a family also, but blending of families is not always the best solution.
I stand by my statement ”Save ALL our Schools – keep every student in their own community and K-12 education in every community!
