Okanagan Drought Plan Report received at last meeting of the Okanagan Basin Water Board:
A final report on a valley-wide drought plan for the Okanagan was presented to the board. Building Drought Resilience in the Okanagan – Phase 1: Gap Analysis and Recommendations includes a comprehensive look at the 2015 drought and suggestions to help address local water supply challenges and improve public communication. A report with next steps will be provided to the board in March.
Today, The Okanagan Basin Water Board (OBWB) will be holding a joint news conference with federal and provincial government and Okanagan Nation Alliance representatives regarding significant federal funding for a project to better understand water needs in our valley.
As we reflect on the drought of last summer and the competing needs for water, and as those needs continue to multiply with population growth, this project is aimed at helping make the best water use decisions possible.

Is there a current plan for 2016?
