The SOSS Hornets are in the South Central Zone finals tonight for the 10 straight year.
The game will be played at 7 pm against Summerland, who upset Maggie last night in overtime 77-74.
For the past nine years Maggie and SOSS have battled for zone supremacy but with the win by Summerland last night the Hornets, who defeated George Elliot last night 88-69, will be playing a team that they have defeated 3 times this year. Two of those games have been close but the last one played at SOSS last week was not close as the Hornets ran away with the game by 50 poits. The coaches are not letting that win cloud their heads as they know in basketball anything can happen so they are not taking this game lightly.
The winner of this game will have the rights to host the valley competition and most likely will be seeded number 1 going into that competition that will be played here February 25-27.
Last night the league handed out its all stars: Kulbir Grewal was named league MVP, with Gurshan Dhaliwal and Manjot Dhaliwal being named to the first all star team and Manvir Brar being named to the second all star team.
The Hornets improved their overall record to 20-7. Good luck tonight SOSS vs Summerland at 7 pm at SOSS.
