Leonard Gebhart of Osoyoos – incoming President of the local Kiwanis Club. Leornard invited me down to the Wednesday getting organized day – inputting new product for a Saturday Sale day. Kiwanis has two trucks busy collecting used material from homes in the South Okanagan.
Gebhart is to replace Lee Chic also of Osoyoos. He hails from LePas Manitoba and moved to the area some time ago. His mother Betty Brown had lived in Osoyoos for over thirty years.
Gebhart says the message today is that for every $$ spent at the Oliver Kiwanis Market – all of it is spent on worthwhile causes including yesterday’s announcement of $30 thousand to buy equipment for the new Penticton acute care hospital.
Kiwanis always looking for new members. Think about how you could contribute to a local service club.
