Osoyoos RCMP were busy this morning after a suspicious deposit was left at the town’s CIBC branch this morning.

The package, a medium-sized duffle bag, was reportedly tied to a railing at the rear of the Main Street building just before 11 a.m.

The bank and two neighbouring businesses were evacuated while officers examined the bag.

It was found to contain garbage.

Osoyoos RCMP said although the package was found to be harmless, such situations are treated seriously, with public safety the paramount concern.
