A three vehicle collision, driver 1 and 2 minor injuries, driver 3 serious head injury.
SO Traffic Services attended.
On 2016-01-28 at 11:20 a.m. a northbound pickup on Hwy 97 near the south end of Vaseux Lake drifted into the southbound lane. This pickup clipped a southbound five ton flat deck lumber truck. That truck spun sideways and was ‘T-boned’ by another vehicle that was travelling southbound behind the lumber truck.
The 58 year old male resident of Grand Forks and lone occupant of the pick up that drifted into the oncoming lane was seriously injured. This male was airlifted to Kelowna General Hospital. The two occupants of the southbound pick up received minor injuries and were transported to Oliver Hospital. The driver of the lumber truck was uninjured.
Preliminary investigation indicates a medical event may be a causal factor.
