Bear Crossing signage has been placed along a stretch of Naramata Rd., where bears cross the road.
Bears cross at that location to continue along their natural route using the gulley(s) from Upper to Lower DeBeck and the Creek Park corridor. The steep terrain causes the bears to appear quite suddenly as they scramble up from the gulley to sprint across the road.
Well, some sprint, some saunter….
The resident reported that bears have nearly been hit by passing motorists, which must be quite scary for unsuspecting drivers and the equally surprised bruins! To keep everyone alert and safe, Ministry of Transportation Infrastructure got right to it, and put the signs up.
Be Bear Smart!
