A vehicle fled from police and was eventually boxed in and two occupants were safely taken into custody after a minor collision and shots being fired.
On January 21st, 2016 at 940 pm, a Penticton RCMP Officer attempted to stop and check a suspicious vehicle with two occupants in the area of Skaha Hills. The vehicle fled from Police at a high rate of speed and was located a short time later on Yorkton Avenue and followed before a second attempt was made to stop it. The vehicle fled again and was located by a lone officer, when a collision occurred and the officer fired two shots. A short distance away, on Valley View Rd., the vehicle was boxed in by other officers and two people, a 23 year old female and 20 year old male, were taken into custody.
“Thankfully neither my officers, nor the suspects were injured” said Superintendent Kevin Hewco, “This is a serious incident that is currently under investigation”.
