December 17, 2015 – Jack Hughes owner of Hughes Department Store tells the Oroville Gazette Tribune that times are tough with the low Canadian $$$ – it is discounting prices heavily and set to close. Or is it?

Time will tell whether the entire operation of retail, discount, hardware, and fireworks outlets employing about 50 people comes to a complete shutdown.

Hughes bought the business from Jim Prince some time ago and leases the buildings from the Prince family.

The Gazette Tribune says it has a completely different story for next week – we shall follow that.
