B.C. Mountie heads into the third year of a paid suspension with another date set for his disciplinary hearing.

Const. Amit Goyal, who served with the Osoyoos detachment, has been suspended with pay since at least June 2013. A conduct hearing for Goyal was set for July of 2015, then rescheduled to August, and then postponed indefinitely.

Goyal was suspended following a 2012 incident involving two cars reported stolen from his home, and later found torched and abandoned. The case was investigated by Trail RCMP which recommended charges of fraud and arson against Goyal.

Crown did not approve charges against Goyal, and no misconduct allegations have been proved, but the RCMP suspended him pending a conduct hearing.
