Polar Bear Swim

The annual Summerland Polar Bear Dip is sponsored by the Summerland Kinsmen Club and takes place on January 1st at the Sun-Oka Beach in Trout Creek. Dippers enter the water at 12 noon sharp! Afterwards enjoy a warm fire and hot chocolate and hot dogs by donation. There will be prizes for best team costume, best male and female costumes and oldest and youngest dippers. All proceeds go to local families and community projects.

300 + people in attendance – about 70 participants

Cold day – swimmers/dippers got a head start before the 12 noon start time – some people missing out on the viewing.
