John Slater, former MLA dies suddenly
John Slater was remembered as a tireless advocate for his community and an affable, articulate and passionate gentleman with a natural gift for politics. Former colleagues, political opponents and members of the community were universally saddened by the sudden death of the man who served for more than two decades as councillor, mayor and MLA. Stu Wells, who succeeded him in 2008, recalls Slater as a man with a “passion for everything about Osoyoos”.
Alan Ruddiman elected top Dr. in BC
Voting in the Doctors of BC President-Elect run-off election concluded at midnight on June 18th. Dr Alan Ruddiman was elected into the position with a total of 3,065 votes. Dr Brian Day received a total of 2,462 votes.
