Warming up the interior of both the museum and archives facilities in time for Xmas are Roy Fernandes of South OKanagan
Insulation, and Oliver and District Heritage Society vice-president Dave Janzen.
Blown insulation in the attics and spray foam around the exterior basement walls will increase the current R20 rating to R50 making for a more comfortable environment for volunteers and staff, the community collections they care for and reduce ongoing operating costs. According to the Society’s facilities maintenance committee which includes Bruce Hamilton, this upgrade will last for many years.
“It’s a good investment” he said noting that the designated former BC Police building that houses the museum is 91 years young.
