After less than two years on the job, Destination Osoyoos managing director Gail Scott will step down in the spring.
DO board chairman Don Brogan announced Scott’s resignation in a news release.
She will stay in her position until April to help finish planning and budgeting for 2016 and preparation for the group’s annual general meeting on April 5.
“During her tenure at DO,” Brogan wrote, “Gail excelled at networking and promoting Osoyoos. In addition to organizing Visitor Services, business walks, the annual Visitors’ Guide and Snowbirds Guide, she was also responsible for Destination Osoyoos winning the professional excellence in destination marketing award for BC this year.”
Scott, 67, says she plans to stay in the Okanagan and do consulting work and spend time with her family.
She joined DO in May last year after working in economic development in Olds and Leduc-Nisku in Alberta. Prior to that she worked with Venture Kamloops.
