Obituary for the late Nicholas Peter Harasymow 1948 – 2015
Nicholas Peter Harasymow, 67, of Willowbrook, Oliver, BC passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015 in the presence of his beloved sister, Barb and brother-in-law, John.
Nick had a passion for the outdoors. A true green thumb at heart, he loved to tend to his garden, harvesting crops and colourful flowers. Nick was a great humanitarian in all aspects of the word. He gave unconditionally to those around him, caring for at-risk youth, the elderly, and always the animals. He had a gift with all living creatures, often
caring for a wounded bird, feeding a stray cat or seeding up a multitude of feeders for the ever increasing bird population that flocked to his fence on a daily basis. One of Nick’s greatest passions was canning. We all loved his peaches, they were the best!
Nick is survived by his son, Jake Crarey (Katie) of Abbotsford, BC; his sisters, Katherine Hartford (Bill) of Summerside, PEI, Barbara Blonde (John) of Kelowna, BC and many beloved nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Peter Harasymow and his brother, William Harasymow.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2016 on the farm in Oliver, BC. We will share colourful stories, remember his caring soul and his generosity for others. May you rest in peace and take joy in knowing you’ve touched many lives.
