Medicine Hat police have named three individuals who were arrested and charged with a number of break-ins at businesses in this Alberta city.
During the nights of Nov. 18 and 19, seven break and enters at small businesses in different areas of the city were reported, with suspects breaking glass doors and stealing cash. On Thursday, police located a stolen vehicle believed to be associated with the break and enters parked at a hotel on 13th Avenue S.E.
Police conducted an investigation into the vehicle and subsequently arrested a man after a short foot pursuit as he was attempting to hook up an enclosed trailer to the truck.
Two others were subsequently arrested and charged with numerous offences.
Brooks Vandenbroek, 37, of Oliver BC has been charged with four counts of break and enter, possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of break-in instruments, breach of recognizance, breach of probation, and numerous other offences. A total of 23 Criminal Code charges have been laid against Vandenbroek.
Racheal Harder, 31, also of Oliver has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of a controlled substance.
Chad Richard Lentz of Medicine Hat has been charged with two counts of break and enter.
All three are scheduled to appear in provincial court Nov. 25.

Locally – warrants are outstanding for Vandenbroek for a number of criminal offences of possession of stolen property. He had failed to appear in court after being released. The charges stem from incidents here in the Okanagan Valley last summer. Harder is before the courts in Penticton for possession of stolen property.
