At this time of the year, along with the busy activity of life, there is another rhythm. Underneath there’s a subtle purpose, a joyful preparation occurring – and Oliver’s Community Handbell Choir, the Oliver Handbell Ringers and their singers, are right in the middle of it.
Our Christmas programme is already under way, with rehearsals well advanced. As before, the bells will be joined by choral sounds, for our presentation called “Rejoice, World!” The Ringers and Singers will begin in early December with afternoon presentations at Sunnybank Seniors’ Home and McKinney Place. The congregation of Christ the King Catholic Church have again made their beautiful building available as the venue for our full performances. The dates to note are Friday, December 11 at 7:30 pm, and Sunday December 13 at 3:00 pm. Everyone is invited; this is a family programme. After all, our performers ages span four generations! Admission is a freewill offering taken during our performances. Also a non-perishable food item to assist those in need at Christmas would be most welcome.
Be sure to mark the dates on your calendar! We look forward to seeing you at one (or both) of the performances. Bring your family, neighbours and your voice, too, because there will be audience participation.
