Christmas is just around the corner and the Kiwanis Club of Oliver wants to make sure it’s a good one foras many local families as possible! A special goal of the club each year is to see that every child has a gift under the tree on December 25th.
In order to make this happen the club with a combination of volunteers, community support and local sponsors come together to make hampers that contain gifts of clothing, toys, food, gift cards and wish list items. These hampers specifically go to families in Oliver that need a bit help of a helping hand during the holiday season.
The program is open to all families residing in Oliver and you must apply by December 1st. I
n order to qualify you must have at least one child 17 years or younger, resident of Oliver, and have a community member as a reference; A community member can be a teacher, counselor, or organization such as the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club etc. Forms can be found at Century21 Amos Realty, Okanagan Boys and Girls Club or at Desert Sun Counseling and Resource Centre.
Last year Share The Spirit helped 50 families have a brighter Christmas and their goal each year is to help at least 1 more family then last year. Businesses, organizations or families that want to sponsor a needy family can contact
