In committee, Regional District directors have opted to use the Penticton Herald and the Similkameen News Leader as the primary method of communicating with the public.
Budget for these bi-weekly ads will be $9400 a year.
The Herald circulation 25 thousand and the Similkameen paper only 1000.
In the past (2014) the RDOS has spent 60 thousand dollars annually on advertising.
In Penticton – the city previously devised such a plan but is using the Western – not the Herald.
The full board will ratify the decision at the next meeting – two directors from the Similkameen voted against the committee motion.
