The BC Agricultural Land Commission has again turned down an application to have farmland taken out of the reserve for a large RV park and other community uses.
The reason: – the land is capable of being used for agriculture.
Decision on file 53748 dated November 6 2015
8.8 hectares or 21.84 acres known as the “Wish” property.
Owner and applicant: Kevin Demers – Pemborough Developments
This is not the first time an application on the property has been refused. The Okanagan panel chaired by Gerry Zimmerman of Kelowna asked that this second ‘recent’ application be reviewed by the higher ups.
The appeal to a previous decision made more interesting with the developer promising to grant land for an aquatic center along with plans for high density construction.
The first application turned down in 1988. ( Applications made 1988, 1997, 2002, 2010 and 2014 )
The address is 4927 Main Street Osoyoos (Lot 9 Disrict Lot 43 ODYD Plan 1958)
