Osoyoos detachment was called to a tractor trailer roll over on Highway 3 just east of Mule Deer Drive today.
A semi truck pulling a loaded 53′ trailer failed to negotiate the sharp corner and rolled onto its passenger side and then slid into the no post barricades. A male passenger who was in the sleeper at the time was able to free himself and was transported to Oliver Hospital with minor injuries.
The male driver was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown to the passenger side floor where he became trapped in the wreckage.
Anarchist Fire Department, Osoyoos Fire Department and BC Ambulance paramedics worked together to remove the male from the wreckage. The male was transported by air to hospital in Kelowna however more so for precautionary measures as his injuries are believed to be minor.
Highway 3 was closed for some time however as of approximately 1330hrs it was open to alternating traffic. A heavy haul tow truck is currently on scene to roll the semi and trailer back onto its wheels and off of the road.
