The Town of Oliver will donate $1,000 to help pay for the fireworks for the annual Christmas light-up scheduled for November 27
Councillor Petra Veintimilla, who is working with the Oliver Business Association on the light-up celebration, asked council to on Monday to become a fireworks sponsor.
She said area businesses and organizations are being approached to help raise the $5,000 needed for the fireworks display.
The $1,000 will come from the town’s discretionary grant-in-aid fund.
