Notice to parents

Two additional non-instructional days have been added to the School District 53 calendar

Monday April 18 and

Monday May 16th (both in the second semester) – that will make for two more long weekends with the kids.

11 teachers will learn to instruct on the new provincial curriculum.

Superintendent Bev Young told an Education Committee meeting today that the Frame Work for this instruction just released today. The plan agreed to my the Ministry of Education and the BCTF.

All teachers will get 10 hours of instruction on the new curriculum on the days above.

11 reps from the teachers union locally will receive an in-service (Train the Trainers). That group of eleven will include some administrators and those details yet to be worked out.
