Habitat for Humanity Southeast BC (HFHSEBC) will be holding a Benefit Fashion Show to support the efforts to rebuild one of the homes lost in the Rock Creek fire.
Volunteer organizer Cindy Fairs, stated “this event is a way for Habitat to be involved to help in the reconstruction of rebuilding not only a home but a community.” The event as Fairs commented “is a way for us to get involved by pulling the surrounding communities throughout the region together to support all those who were impacted by the fire of Rock Creek.”
Heather Smith of the Yellow Door Boutique in Greenwood is working in partnership with Habitat to produce a quality event that will include men’s, women’s and children’s fashions. A silent auction will be held showcasing items donated such as Big White Ski passes, resort packages from the Coast Capri and Prestige Inn, memorabilia donated by retired hockey player Kevin Sawyer and other items that have been donated by many other generous supporters.
Refreshments will be served and an eclectic show of a classical performance by Peri Best and her entourage will be performed. Emcee Bob Dupee of Christina Lake will lead the event and local politician Linda Larson, MLA for the Boundary-Similkameen and regional district directors Vicki Gee and Grace McGregor will be attending as will many others from around the region.
HFHSEBC has to date, built twenty homes within the region with the Rock Creek home to be the twenty-first.
The event will be held on Saturday, November 7 from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. at the MacArthur Center located in Greenwood, BC. Admission is by donation. For more information contact (250) 718-4377.
