For years I have been saying stagger the hours of voting across Canada so that most people could see the results together. (no blackouts)
It is not perfect but Elections Canada seems to have heard my calls in the wild

Polls are open for 12 hours across the country on election day. The voting hours are staggered so that the majority of results are available at approximately the same time on election night.
Voting hours at polling places for each time zone across Canada are:
Time zone – Voting hours (local time)
8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.-Newfoundland
8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.-Atlantic
9:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.-Eastern
8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.-Central
7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.-Mountain
7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.-Pacific
It’s a start – election day could be two days – Monday and Tuesday – with everyone having the same quality time to vote but closing in a staggered fashion on the second day. ALL at the same time – let’s say 3pm Pacific
Then all Canadians would be equal – able to watch result come at the same time.
