We started our review of this report yesterday with the poster for the Environment – it was not the highest mark but caught my interest.
Did you know the average daily temperature has risen in our area from 9.2 to 9.8 in less than 40 years?
Water consumption per capita has begun to fall
Amount of rainfall recently is down
Nearly 24 thousand tonnes of waste was deposited in landfills in Osoyoos, Keremeos and Penticton. (No mention of Oliver or OK Falls)
Citizen feedback: “We need leadership. Too many issues being brushed aside in favour of development.”
Three things you can do to help:
1. Neighbourhoods to improve water conservation as a team. 2 Shop for as much food grown locally as possible. 3. Learn more about our local eco-systems.
