Yes, it’s true that it will inconvenience some when, eventually, this trail is constructed. I’ve had so many phone calls in opposition and I’ve passed that along to staff who informed me of the history and scope of the trail project.
It’s not intended to bully anyone but all property owners will be accommodated to the best of staff’s ability. This is only the planning stage and, as I’ve told folks, it’s not like there’s ready funding to do it and, as mentioned, bridges will be required, negotiations with OIB will be paramount.
Staff has already met with amost 20 residents and plan to meet with everyone affected soon. Personally, as I’m trying to make clear to all, is that this is a great Long Term project to connect the valley and to keep cyclists off the highway.
