Members Sue Webster, Brita Park and Louise Szalay had the opportunity to meet with two members of the Abatar family in Summerland. Nadya and Hassam, along with their three children arrived in Summerland after 2 years in Jordan, to where they had escaped, fleeing the war in their home of Syria.

The Oliver group were interested in gathering information to ease the transition for the Al Lwissi family expected to arrive in Oliver sometime in the next several weeks. Meanwhile, preparations and fundraising are underway. Donations can now be made by PayPal by visiting www.ctkoliver.org
